Fluid Topics is an open, secure, extensible, standards-based solution designed to connect seamlessly with your IT environment and existing tools. With convenient widgets and Web APIs, you can configure the solution to your specifications and be up and running in just a few days.

Integrating with Your User Interface

There are three ways to integrate Fluid Topics with external and internal web interfaces. Whichever way you choose, the solution behaves and blends in with the rest of your environment. The software is designed to work with your corporate directories such as LDAP, OpenDirectory or single sign-on (SSO) and established security policies to authenticate users and protect content.

Data Aggregation

Fluid Topics is built on Antidot Information Factory (AIF), an industrial platform for unstructured data processing. Fluid Topics executes sophisticated algorithms to align and link text and metadata. This processing can be tuned to match your precise needs with Fluid Topics Back-Office management tools.

As an extensible solution, Fluid Topics lets you add specific processing tasks such as metadata cleansing or knowledge extraction. AIF’s graphical editor allows you to modify existing data processing pipelines or create your own.

Once processed, the resulting digital content is automatically indexed and integrated into a unified knowledge hub and is immediately accessible for searching and viewing. Secure, but totally open, the knowledge hub serves as a universal locator for all your content. Fluid Topic widgets use Web Services to connect and integrate the knowledge hub with your applications and websites.

Uploading Content into Fluid Topics

Fluid Topics pulls content from sources in different ways:

  • REST-compliant Web Services. Web Services are most commonly used to push content into Fluid Topics. As soon as a piece of information arrives, it is automatically processed and added to the knowledge hub.
  • Direct export. Several industry-leading CMS and authoring tools provide an “Export to Fluid Topics” button for exporting content directly into the knowledge hub. No preprocessing needed, send the DITA or XML files just as they are stored in their repository.
  • Back-Office tools. Fluid Topics management software lets you manually upload content through its web-based interface.
  • Connectors. Fluid Topics also comes with a set of connectors to pull the content from applications that do not provide export features such as wikis or knowledge bases.

Integrating User Analytics

The Fluid Topics Back-Office management suite contains comprehensive tools for monitoring users and traffic, processing content, and configuring and managing a host of features.

Fluid Topics tools capture, log and analyze every search and read and every API access. That wealth of data is easily accessible through Back-Office web-based reports and charts. Web APIs also enable third-party applications to access, process and display raw log input.
